Barcelona claims the Cup

At the famous Stade de France, Barcelona obtained the prize it desperately wanted: the UEFA Champions League Cup. The match was a mixture of goals, excitement and polemics.

Eighteen minutes after the match started, Arsenal goalkeeper, Jens Lehmann , was sent off for bringing down Et’o, leaving the English team with only 10 players for the rest of the match. However, Arsenal took the leading in the 37th minute when Sol Campbell scored.

Eto'o leveled the score in the 76th minute and Brazilian Belleti scored in the 81st to give the victory to Barcelona. "Scoring a goal in the Champions League is very difficult for a fullback," said Belletti. The Champions League is for all the people who don't appear in the press. It's for everyone."

Henry, the Gunner’s best player, showed his anger towards the referee. "I don't know if the ref had a Barcelona shirt on or something", he said. "We can be proud, we can be more than proud, but I'm sorry, some of the refereeing today was horrendous."

The Spanish team also won the Cup in 1992.
