The president of the Brazilian Soccer Confederation has recently announced the proclamation, after the two-hour meeting they had, of the new Brazilian coach. Dunga is going to replace Carlos Alberto Parreira, who resigned after the failure the team was on the World Cup held in Germany.
Dunga is 43 years old and he is recognized by men such as Carlos Bilardo to be the symbol of the new Brazil the one that won the World Cup in United States 94, a title they hadn’t been able to win in the previous 24 years.
As a professional soccer player he started in 1981, at the age of 18 and retired in 2000 in the Porto Alegre International. With the Brazilian team selection he disputed the World Cup of 1990 in Italy, 1994 in United States (champion) and 1998 in France (vice champion).
The Brazilian press highlights the fact that, even though he doesn’t have any experience as a coach, he was the one that held the leading voice of the team that won the third world championship for Brazil in 1994.
